Role Overview
The Junior Graphic Designer supports the Design team by executing production-ready design assets for retail packaging and related materials. This role works closely with Art Directors and Designers to bring concepts to life while learning RMS design systems, workflows, and production standards. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, eager to learn, and excited to grow in a fast-paced consumer products environment.
Key Responsibilities & Expectations
- Execute production-ready artwork for retail packaging, displays, inserts, and related assets
- Prepare files for print, including dielines, color corrections, bleeds, and CMYK setup
- Collaborate with Art Directors, peers, and Sales to meet deadlines and production schedules
- Take ownership of assigned projects under the guidance of experienced Designers
- Maintain brand consistency across multiple product lines and retail partners
- Organize, label, and archive digital assets accurately and consistently
- Assist with mockups, presentations, and concept boards for line reviews and buyer meetings
- Research visual trends in toys, impulse items, and pop culture to support new product concepts
- Ensure all artwork meets quality, safety, and compliance standards
- Learn and apply RMS design systems, workflows, and production standards
- Contribute to a team-oriented design environment by communicating clearly and constructively
- Accept feedback professionally and implement revisions efficiently
- Maintain a positive, solution-oriented attitude in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design or a related field
Required Skills & Capabilities
Design Fundamentals
- Strong understanding of packaging layout, hierarchy, and composition
- Solid grasp of color theory and typography
- Ability to adapt to different brand styles and product categories
- Ability to follow established brand guidelines with consistency
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Technical & Production Skills
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.)
- Experience setting up print-ready files, including bleeds, dielines, and CMYK
- Understanding of packaging dielines and templates
- Basic knowledge of prepress and print production processes
- Experience creating 3D mockups or packaging renders
